Textiles laboratory

The textiles laboratory carries out studies of the techniques and materials used on textile works of art and archeological textile remains.

The laboratory focuses on:
- identifying the natural colorants and the first organic synthetic colorants and studying their deterioration;
- identifying proteins and their deterioration;
- identifying fibers and their phenomena of deterioration;
- identifying stains;
- the structure of wires.
