Decoration of historic monuments and wall painting laboratory

This laboratory analyses the pictorial finishings, both wall paintings and monument decorations (indoors or outdoors). Monument decoration includes polychrome, be it on stone, metal or wood. The study of the techniques and materials identifies the organic and inorganic components of paint layers and the stratigraphical exam.

The laboratory also:
- carries out non-destructive exams on wall paintings in situ;
- identifies pigments, charges, binding agents, varnishes, decorative finishings on wall paintings and monument decorations.
