Altarpiece of St. Denis: restoration completed!

This past May the Altarpiece of St. Denis returned to the Collegial church of St. Denis in Liège after a two-year restoration and study campagn. Thanks to the quality of its woodcarving, the particular character of its original partial polychromy and its impressive dimensions (c. 5.20m h x 3.25m b) it's considered an exceptional work of Belgian cultural heritage. The study of this unique altarpiece will be treated more in detail in October 2015 during the 16th Art history seminar of the KIK-IRPA.
