april 14 2010 - RIHA journal: first issue

RIHA (International Association of Research Institutes in the History of Art), of which IRPA/KIK is a member, is pleased to announce the launch of RIHA Journal. The peer reviewed e-journal provides an up-to-date publishing platform for, and offers free access to, international research articles in the history of art.

The journal features articles in either English, French, German, Italian, or Spanish, and is open to the whole range of art historical topics and approaches. Manuscripts undergo a double blind peer review process and are published within few weeks from submission.

A not-for-profit e-journal committed to the principles of Open Access, the RIHA Journal makes all articles available free of charge. Contributions can be subscribed to via RSS feed.

RIHA Journal is edited by the directors of the RIHA institutes. A joint project of 27 institutes in 18 countries, the journal pursues new and ambitious paths of international institutional cooperation: The editing processes are locally organized, each of the RIHA institutes being responsible for acquiring submissions, organizing reviews, and copy editing. A web-based Content Management System both supports the editing processes and serves as a publishing platform.

The Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte in Munich (ZIK) has assumed responsibility for developing and organizing the journal.

Funding is provided by the German Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (Beauftragter der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien, BKM).
