The photo library online

Consult the database

Not all photos are in the database yet since we are gradually digitalizing them. However, all photos can be consulted in the reading room at IRPA. Do not hesitate to visit us!

Some copyrights are necessary if you want to use the photos for private use or publish them. Furthermore, if you want to use a photo of a work of art, you might have to ask the author for permission. In the database, next to the photo you will find the copyright and the name of the claimant(s), if we have been previously informed.

During the renovation works on the first floor, from February 18 until June 18 2010, the visitors of the photo library will be received in the library. Visitors will still be able to consult the photo documents, but the old paper index files will not be available in this period. From June 18 until September 17, both the library and the photo library will be closed for the public.

We apologise for the inconvenience.

There are two ways of ordering photos:

- online: by clicking on the icon 'enlarged image' in the database.

- downloading the order form.

Each negative in the collection has its own number (ex: Z003280). You must use this number when ordering.

If the photo has not been put into the database yet and you think that a photo exists at KIK-IRPA, please contact the photo library staff (02/739.67.43 or phototheque @ kikirpa.be).

There are three types of delivery:

- photos are scanned and burnt on a CD (JPG format, 300 DPI resolution)

- photos are printed on paper from the digitised file

- photos are printed on paper from the original negative


Delivery:

For every order, there is a two-week minimum delivery period. Keep in mind that a mixed order (CD and paper prints) means two separate shipments.

Authors of the works of art, the owners (private or public) and beneficiaries of cultural agreements can benefit from a 25% special discount. Students can benefit from a 50% special discount if they have a certificate.


Remarks:

All special and/or urgent orders (fast service, particular format, etc.) are subject to the agreement of the direction and a special rate is applied.
