Polychromed wood sculpture workshop
This workshop studies all types of polychromed wood sculptures as well as ivory and wax objects, chiefly studying and treating Belgian objects from the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and the Baroque period.

Prior to any intervention, each sculpture is studied in depth from different viewpoints: how it was sculpted and how it was conserved. When we say: "How it was sculpted", we refer to what type of support was used, how it was sculpted and what finishing topcoats were applied. A specific exam with a binocular microscope and a stratigraphical and a topographical exam are usually performed on polychromed sculptures in order to highlight the history of the work of art.
