RIHA Journal

The RIHA is an open access electronic journal published by the International Association of Research Institutes in the History of Art (RIHA), of which the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage is a member.

This project is carried out by 31 institutions in 22 countries. The journal is international, multilingual and open to all art historical subjects, periods and approaches. The full text is available online free of charge. The languages of publication are English, French, German, Italian or Spanish.

As an institute of the RIHA, the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage contacts the authors, organises the peer review process and edits the contributions of Belgian authors or those on Belgian themes. A double-blind peer review by specialists from various fields guarantees the quality of the publication. One of the journal's strengths is the short turnaround time between the submission of the article and its online publication.

The journal is indexed by Arts & Humanities Citation Index, Scopus, ERIH PLUS (the European Reference Index for the Humanities and the Social Sciences) and Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
