The twenty-third Art History Seminar of the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage (KIK-IRPA) is organised in collaboration with the research project AGENART at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). It will take place on 12^th-13^th September 2024 at the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage and at the Instituto Cervantes, both in Brussels, highlighting various fascinating aspects of the artistic patronage of the remarkable woman who was the Archduchess Isabella, who lived in Madrid and Brussels between 1566 and 1633.

The Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage (KIK-IRPA) is organizing an international Summer School in partnership with The International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM).

From May 29 through 1 June 2024, the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands (RCE) will host the Architectural Finishes Research Conference in Amsterdam. They do so in collaboration with renowned partners on this subject in the Low Countries: the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage (KIK-IRPA), SRAL ‒ The Conservation Institute, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and University of Amsterdam (UvA).

On the occasion of the 550th anniversary of the Communion of the Apostles (Urbino, Palazzo Ducale), scholars from all over the world will convene in Rome and Urbino to reconsider the oeuvre attributed to its enigmatic Flemish painter, recorded as Giusto di Gand in Urbino.

The international and interdisciplinary XXIII Symposium for the Study of Underdrawing and Technology in Painting focuses on 'Cross-Media Perspectives. Technical Studies of Art on Panel, Paper and Parchment (1400-1600)'.

International Study Day & Call for Papers for a Special Journal Issue

The Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage (KIK-IRPA) is organising a study day which aim is to further clarify our understanding of the artistic exchanges and influences that took place between the Low Countries and the Iberian world during the period 1400-1715.

The twenty-first Art History Seminar will be held at KIK-IRPA (conference room) on 10 November 2022 from 9am to 5pm. We are pleased to announce that this year's seminar will consider the theme of copying through the experience of eleven KIK-IRPA art historians working in a wide variety of artistic disciplines and periods, from photography to sculpture, from the Middle Ages to the contemporary period.
